The Honor Society of the Lambda Kappa Phi bagged the championship award as its lantern shone the brightest and the best during the Fiestanglaw 2016: Lantern Making Contest held at the MSEUF Gymnasium, Dec. 4, 2016.
The HSLKP triumphed against nine other competing organizations. The United Architects of the Philippines – Student Axillary and the College of Architecture and Fine Arts placed second and third, respectively.
Phian Francis “koko” Bolala led the Grand Council in designing and creating the lantern made primarily of recyclable materials. It is composed of electric fan covers, drinking straws, plastic bottles, paper bowls, plastic spoons, and other reused materials.
The lantern of the HSLKP embarked a Paskong Pinoy theme with flaunted colorful round patterns and designs as well as a striking star in the middle. It was also ornamented with the Holy family profile and an image of a church on its center embodying the real essence of the season.
The Grand Council of the HSLKP received certificate of recognition and cash prize.
Ma’am Sylvia Avila in-charge in the Office of Alumni Relations, Job Placement, and Scholarship led the Fiestanglaw 2016 which also encompassed the Façade Designing Contest and the Christmas Cantata.
